The story of Heffner Motors began in 1960 when John Heffner Sr. opened a small repair garage on Breithaupt Street in Kitchener.
By 1962, the business moved to King Street East, across from Rockway Gardens, where it was located for 25 years.
In 1987 John Heffner and his sons, Willy Heffner and John Heffner Jr., moved to their current location on King East near Fairway.
Heffner Toyota changed its name in 1990 to Heffner Lexus Toyota, welcoming the addition of Toyota’s new line of luxury automobiles.
Heffner Lexus/Heffner Toyota has grown substantially since 2004, in large part due to the needs of our immediate community – Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge and Guelph – our guests and staff.
In October 2004 we opened a 12,500 square foot used vehicle showroom.
in September 2005 we moved into our 65,000 square foot Toyota dealership and in July of 2006 we moved the Lexus dealership to their 24,000 square foot building.
We have grown from 42,000 sq ft to approximately 132,000 sq ft. and are now working out of five different buildings spread over 16 acres of land.
On November 5th 2011 we opened our new Collision Centre to serve our growing customer demand. The collision centre is 25,000 square feet with a basement of 24,000 square feet all devoted to customer tire storage. The basement is fully climate controlled with proper fire suppression all to assist with helping the longevity of our guest’s tires. Through our body shop we also apply vehicle tinting and vinyl chip tape.
In addition to the New Toyota, Lexus and Used Vehicle showrooms, both dealerships include extensive Parts and Service Departments, a state-of-the-art Body Shop, and a full-service Auto Cleaning and Detailing Centre.
Our detailing centre of 8,500 square feet is one of the largest in the region and offers a wide variety of services over and above a simple car wash. Such as headlight restoration, vehicle rustproofing, paint protection and fabric/leather protection. Our highly trained staff will make your car look like new.
Heffner Motors believes very strongly in the concept of corporate citizenship. We are a part of the wider community and as such believe that giving back is an essential part of our operations. We support many local charity organizations financially as well as with donations of our time. We believe strongly in being a member of our wider community and that doing good business is essentially good for business.
Once such charity organization that we work with is Ray of Hope, which operates the café in our Toyota building. The café is a full service operation offering breakfast and daily lunch specials.
Heffner Toyota is a family owned business now with 3 generations actively involved. We live our motto of “You’re Part of the Family.”
