Morning Glory Cafe inside Heffner Toyota
Heffner’s has always been a strong supporter of the community. A commitment that originated with John Heffner Sr. 60 years ago. And its this commitment that’s been passed down through each generation.
Morning Glory is a fully functional café open to everyone, whether employees, guests visiting for service or the general public looking for a delicious breakfast, lunch, soup or snack. As an added bonus to all our service guests, we also offer a free cookie and coffee while you wait.
But what makes our in-house café so special to us is the opportunity that it provides through the Youth Work Experience Program. The staff are mainly young people between the ages of 15-29 who are not enrolled in school and are unemployed or under-employed.
In this program, they are given the opportunity to work with a dedicated Employment Counsellor. By doing so, they gain real life working experience, as well, are introduced to external work placements, with the goal of gaining additional experience to help propel them towards a career they enjoy.
Sharlene Wallace, Program Director, Youth Employment Services, is thrilled with what’s being accomplished at Morning Glory. “I feel the intensity of this program will better prepare our participants for graduation. It is going to give them greater opportunities to find permanent employment through the experience gained from the new external work placements portion.
The next time you’re in the area, we encourage you to stop for a quick bite and help support an organization that’s going above and beyond to make a difference in our community.
Morning Glory Café has been in the new Toyota building since its build back in 2005. The partnership began prior to that when Morning Glory delivered snacks to the dealership for our guests.
Hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 7am-4pm and Saturday from 8am-1pm.
